We are committed to ethical and sustainable business practices

Ethics

People

At Gini London, our people commitments start with the people who make our clothes. We work with a small number of regularly-visited factories, and our production is independently certified to the SMETA 4-Pillar standard through Sedex, covering fair wages, safe working conditions and reasonable working hours. We publish our Modern Slavery Statement in full, and our factories undergo additional third-party audits on behalf of the wholesale partners we supply. We are building on this foundation with a wider programme covering diversity, equity and inclusion within our own team, and community engagement closer to home. We'll share milestones here as they're delivered.

SEDEX & SMETA AUDIT

Sedex is a global membership organisation dedicated to driving improvements in ethical and responsible business practices in global supply chains. The Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA) audit protocol is the standard for inclusion in the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (Sedex). We are both members of Sedex and have continuously passed the SMETA Audit.

Modern Slavery Statement

We are committed to ethical and responsible business practices, ensuring that modern slavery or human trafficking have no place in our operations or supply chains.

Planet

We know the fashion industry has real environmental impacts, and we're starting to measure ours so we can reduce it. We're reviewing our energy and water use across our supply chain and looking at how our fabric choices, transport and packaging contribute to our footprint. In the meantime, the simplest thing you can do to reduce impact is to keep your Gini pieces in use for longer, our fabric care guide has tips on washing at lower temperatures, air-drying, and gentle care that extend garment life and cut energy and water use at home.

Product

Every Gini London garment carries a clear fibre composition label, so you always know exactly what you're wearing. We are working to introduce lower-impact fibres, certified materials and clean-chemistry standards into the range.

Progress

We're at the start of our circularity journey. We're reviewing options that would let Gini pieces have a longer life, from repair and alteration services to resale and looking at where our packaging can be reduced, reused or made easier to recycle.
